The CHU116 is a compact unit for heating limited compartments where conventional heaters may be considered over-sized and not suitable from an economical view.

In areas such as nacelles, fan ducts, cargo compartments, underfloor compartments, tail-cones, external pods etc. it provides warm air directly to the affected areas.

A warm engine means less risk for starting problems, oil/fuel-filter clogging and freezing components. Aircrafts that requires warm-up runs to reach operating temperature or certain temperature limits may also save fuel and time.

Other ares that benefits from heating are remote cargo compartments, electrical centers and underfloor areas etc.

Heating remote areas reduces risk for freezing fluids in luggage, freezing waterlines or valves and ice build-up on skins and components.

The heater can also be used as a ventilation unit (for electrical centers, camera and radar pods) or a maintenance heater to warm up components and create a more comfortable working environment when carrying out tasks in low temperatures.
